Farming Materials & Items

If one or both of your professions is of the gathering type such as Mining, Herbalism or Skinning, you can become a “farmer” in your spare time for extra cash. Materials gathered from these professions are needed in large quantities on most realms and sell for a nice fee. You can earn gold in the region of 200g per hour simply by gathering materials to sell at the Auction House. Another way to make tons of gold if you have plenty of time to spare is to farm hard to obtain items such as rare pets or epic items. There are also quests for just about all the Northrend factions such as the Sons of Hodir, the Knights of the Ebon Blade and the Argent Crusade that all provide nice amounts of gold. Remember to take into account the auction fee when working out the profit margin though!
